Om kunstneren
Mitt navn er Elisa Bosse. Jeg ble født i Bergen, Norge, og studerer nå kunst i mitt niende semester ved Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee. I 2024 tilbrakte jeg et semester i Brasil, hvor jeg fikk vise arbeidene mine på Museo do Centro Cultural i Porto Alegre, og senere i en separatutstilling hos River Arts i New York. Jeg har også deltatt på University Biennale Mallorca og stilt ut mine verk ved blant annet Kleist-Museum Frankfurt (Oder), Kunstraum Kreuzberg og Kunstraum Potsdamer Straße i Berlin.
I mitt kunstneriske arbeid forsøker jeg å finne styrken i det helt fine, delikate og lette. Jeg ser farge som lys og skaper delikate flater gjennom svært tynne lag av maling – flater som utstråler en ro og en styrke i sin ømhet.
I mitt kunstneriske arbeid beskjeftiger jeg meg intensivt med naturen og vårt forhold til den. Jeg utforsker hvilken rolle kunsten kan spille i vår oppfatning av naturen, hvordan kunsten kan være et uttrykk for naturen, og hvordan den kan vekke interesse for naturen i oss. For meg er natur lys og farge, men også lyd – noe jeg igjen oversetter til farge og videre til et visuelt uttrykk. Arbeidene mine forholder seg både figurativt og helt abstrakt til naturen. Jeg mener det er svært relevant i vår tid å rette oppmerksomheten mot naturen, og jeg undersøker hva menneskeheten har mistet i sitt forhold til den, og hvordan man kan vekke en ny nærhet og interesse for naturen.
Jeg arbeider utelukkende med naturlige materialer. I tillegg til maleri skaper jeg også strikkede objekter, installasjoner og fotografier. Verkene mine blir til verdener man kan tre inn i – stille og rolige rom som åpner for fordypning.

«Hidden Objects»
The knitted fabric is made of ripped fabric that I gather
from my grandma, friends and family. It is fabric that has been used to envelop things, the kitchen table, human beings and more. I rip this apart and then knit it together again, exploring traditional feminine activities in the process.
Later I use this fabric to envelop other things, and create a question about hiding and getting attention. In the project «Hidden Objects» I hide cars. A symbol of something I want to hide, that disturbs nature and destroys it, but at the same time we humans can’t get our hands away from it. You can see the car through the fabric, it’s enveloped but at the same time caught in the net, hidden and grabbing the viewers attention at the same time. Playing with a conflict within us.
In this project I both have pictures of the hidden car in nature, exploring how the car is hidden but at the same time the main character in the picture. It gives a feeling that it’s outdated. At the same time I made installations looking at how incredibly interested people get in the car as soon as it is hidden behind this blanket.
My usual work, mostly painting, works around nature in a different sense. This is more about our relationship to nature and our relationship to things, and how easily we get caught by things, things where we forget nature and its impact on nature so quickly. I think this was a really experimental and also exploring project that interacted with everyday people, and I therefore send you this as a proposal.
The car was outside of the exhibition for a week and I could on a daylight bases see how people interact with this car.
A snippet from my observations:
For three days it has been standing there. Children touch it, pull at it, adults read the note. Children ask: What is this? It’s art, or something like that… the car has gotten tangled in the net. The car can’t drive anymore. Hidden objects… grandma’s tablecloths. It is covered, it is concealed, yet it draws attention. After all, it’s still a car.
I observe.
146 people take photos.
More than 40 children touch it.
Only 3 people walk past without looking at it.
People smile….
people don’t get it, but everybody is interested.
