F+U Academy of Languages
The language school F+U Academy of Languages was founded in Heidelberg, Germany in 1980. In its specialist area of German as a Foreign Language, F+U Academy of Languages is one of the world leaders in the provision of German courses, whether in the form of intensive lessons in the mornings and afternoons, or in complementary evening courses. Today, the F+U Academy of Languages is one of the largest language schools in Germany. Every year, approximately 6,000 students from over 100 countries participate in our language courses in Heidelberg.
Besides TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and TestDaF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache), the following exams can be taken in the Academy of Languages test centre: Zertifikat Deutsch, Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf, TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication), LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce and Industry) exams, TELC (The European Language Certificates) for the languages German, English, French, Italian, Russian, Spanish and more), ECDL (the European Computer Driving Licence), TestAS (certification to demonstrate foreign applicants’ suitability for study) and OnDaF – to name but a few.
Of particular significance is the Vocational School for Foreign Languages, established in 2004, where it is possible to study towards the state recognised qualifications of Fremdsprachenkorrespondent/in (Foreign Language Correspondent Clerk), Europasekretär/in (European Secretary) and Translator.
Location
The school is situated near Bismarckplatz in the middle of the vibrant centre of the university city. It is only 200 metres from the Neckar and 1.5 km away from the castle. The school building offers a fantastic view over the Old Town, castle and into the Neckar valley.
Facilities
The school has 48 multimedia-equipped classrooms (up to 75 in summer), 3 Internet rooms with 50 computers, wireless connection, and a library. During break times you have the chance to enjoy a chat with colleagues in the common room, which has a terrace, or in the cafes located in the building. Also thanks to its central location in Heidelberg, the Academy of Languages fulfils all the criteria for transforming language lessons into a special experience. Due to its international character, the school is a unique venue for encountering other cultures.
