Dr Martyn Davies is the Executive Director of the Centre for Chinese Studies. He is a Senior Lecturer (Extraordinaire) within the Department of Political Science at Stellenbosch and a faculty member at the University of Stellenbosch Business School. Martyn is a Senior Lecturer at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria where he heads the Asia Business Centre
Paula Roque is the Research Coordinator: China in Africa Programme at the South African Institute for International Affairs. Her research interests and expertise include: Disarmament, Demobilisation, and Reintegration (DDR) processes, Refugee and IDP law, post-conflict reconstruction, national reconciliation and transitional justice, human rights and international humanitarian law; South-south Cooperation; politics of ethnicity, identity and nationalism particularly in Angola, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Sudan, Vietnam and China.
