Øyafestivalen på besøk i London

Having already confirmed Pavement, Big Boi, Major Lazer and Cymbals Eat Guitars for 2010’s August event, Norway’s Øya Festival is treating Londoners to a special one off showcase with handpicked guests next month.

Showcasing Øya’s support of talented homegrown acts with two Norwegian bands on the bill, plus one hotly tipped new British band, it is sure to be a great night for all at Koko on 26th February:

Bergen four-piece, The New Wine are making big waves at home and abroad with their delicious brand of groove based pop songs. With influences including Michael Jackson, LCD Soundsystem and Koji Kondo (the acclaimed Nintendo composer), The New Wine combine pop, funk and rock to a very danceable effect.  Having played Øya Festival last year, The New Wine went on to tour Europe where they supported the Whitest Boy Alive amongst others.

Øyafestival is the largest outdoor music festival in Oslo, Norway and after the massive success of last year’s event - the 8th year where tickets have sold out months in advance - its status was cemented as one of the best in Europe
